Curioso...

Socialismo o Muerte, 2002

Painted reproduction of a political poster proclaiming Fidel Castro’s slogan “Socialismo o Muerte” ironically written out in the typography of the Coca-Cola trademark. Cuba remains one of the rare countries in the world that have escaped the Coca-Cola brand, preferring the local soda, Tropicola. The sponge placed in front of the poster emphasizes this phenomenon of absorption and rejection of cultural signs.
